The first day we will pick you up from your hotel in (or around) Arusha. During the 2,5 hour drive you will enjoy the beautiful nature and landscapes. In Tarangire National Park we’ll do a game drive before lunch. After lunch at the picnic site we’ll do a game drive all afternoon. Tarangire is located 115 km south of Arusha, and is a long and narrow park that covers 2850 km2 and runs along the Tarangire River. The name of the park is also coming from the Tarangire River, which is the only source of water for wild animals during the dry season. The park is famous for its large number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons. At the end of the afternoon we will arrive at the camp site. You can freshen up and around 7 we welcome you for dinner prepared by your private cook.
Breakfast followed by morning game drives within the Tarangire, which is probably one of the least visited parks in Tanzania despite its high population of elephants in the region. Break for lunch at the camp / lodge then continue with an afternoon game drive. The park is normally quite dry but has a beautiful landscape which is covered in sparse vegetation strewn with baobab and acacia trees. The park is only 2 hours away from Arusha town and has a breath-taking view of the Masai steppes under the daily cloudless sky and scorching sun which bakes the ground into a dusty red colour.
Early breakfast followed by departure to the Great Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation area arriving for lunch; lunch is followed by game viewing. Serengeti is home to Africa’s big five (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard & buffalo) and is also home to millions of other animals which include browsers, predators, reptiles and birds. The annual wildebeest migration commences in June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle head into the Masai Mara plains in search of better pasture. These animals are followed closely by the predators of the savannah (lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, vultures and others). Evening transfer back to accommodation for rest and dinner
Early breakfast followed by game viewing within the famous and game studded Serengeti plains which is also home to over 500 bird species. Your expert guide will help you track animals, spot camouflaged animals and birds as well as stop patiently for you to take many pictures. Break for lunch at camp / lodge then proceed with afternoon game viewing till evening
Early breakfast followed by morning departure to Ngorongoro Crater with packed picnic lunch and a visit of Olduvai Gorge enroute. At Olduvai Gorge you will have a cultural visit and walk as the guide explains to you about the origin of man. Proceed to Ngorongoro arriving in the late afternoon for relaxation at the camp / lodge. Spend the evening at leisure enjoying various activities available at camp / lodge.
The Masai are a nomadic tribe living mainly in Kenya and Tanzania (East Africa). The Masai are the most famous people of East Africa and are known for their traditional way of life, language and their beautiful jewelry and clothing. Spread over Tanzania you will find traditional Masai villages. While visiting a Masai village (Manyatta) you discover more about the ancient traditions and rituals of the Masai.
Breakfast followed by morning departure to Arusha or Kilimanjaro to connect with your next onward flight to your next destination.
